Newborn Screening Advisory Committee advises the Department of State Health Services regarding strategic planning, policy, rules, and services related to newborn screening. 1. Welcome, introductions, and logistical announcements. The meeting was convened by Michael Speer, Chair. 2. Consideration of July 8, 2022, draft meeting minutes The minutes were tabled until the next meeting. 3. DSHS Upcoming Newborn Screening Laboratory renovation updates. Construction starts October 28th Roof top air handlers and exhaust units will be first addressed so there will be no new testing from the 28th through the 30th. Specimens reception has been moved to the warehouse section Lab reporting has moved to another area on campus November 8 through 13 there will be no electricity in the lab. A backup lab will be used starting November 5th HL7, Electronic Reporting logistics is still under consideration, but the report from the backup lab will be different from the past
