Texas Pharmaceutical Initiative Advisory Council

In accordance with TGC § 2177.008, the Texas Pharmaceutical Initiative Advisory Council (TPIAC) was established to advise the board on implementing TPI and carrying out the duties imposed on the board.

  1. The TPIAC is composed of:
  2. The executive commissioner of HHSC or the executive commissioner’s designee;
  3. The executive director of the Employees Retirement System of Texas or the executive director’s designee;
  4. The executive director of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas or the executive director’s designee;
  5. The chancellor of The University of Texas System or the chancellor’s designee; and
  6. The chancellor of The Texas A&M University System or the chancellor’s designee.

 

  1. Advisory Council Operations and Meetings
  2. The board may ask members of the TPIAC to attend board meetings to provide information related to the agency they represent and give advice on implementing TPI.
  3. The TPIAC is subject to the Open Meetings Act (OMA), as if it were a governmental body.
  4. The presence of a quorum of the TPIAC:
  5. Constitutes a TPIAC meeting that requires posting appropriate notice of the meeting as a full meeting of the TPIAC in accordance with the OMA; and

 

  1. Requires the TPIAC meeting to be held in compliance with the OMA, including posting appropriate notice of the meeting and keeping a recording or meeting minutes.

  • Laura Chambers, Executive Director, Office of Employee Benefits, The University of Texas System
  • Sheri Meyer, Director, System Benefits Administration, Texas A&M University System
