Texas Council on Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders advises DSHS and recommends needed action for the benefit of people with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders and for their caregivers. Call to Order, Logistics, and Roll Call. The meeting was called to order by Rita Hortenstine, Chair. A quorum was present. Two new Council members were introduced: DSHS employees Michael Gayle and Jessica Hyde. Council action on January 30, 2019, meeting minutes. The minutes were approved as written. Council action to approve the University of Texas Health Rio Grande Valley for membership to the Texas Alzheimer’s Research and Care Consortium (TARCC). Dr. Monroe Cullum[1] requested membership on behalf of the University. The other state medical institutions are members of TARCC, and UT Rio Grande Valley (UT RGV) is now in a terrific position to join TARCC.
