HHSC: Healthcare Safety Advisory Committee

An Advisory Panel was created in 2007 to help guide the state's Healthcare Safety public reporting program. This program requires certain hospitals and day surgery centers to report harmful events and infections that patients get in their care. Over the years, the program has grown and the panel has changed with it. In 2017, the Advisory Panel changed to an Advisory Committee with the same duties to guide the program. The Healthcare Safety Advisory Committee is made up of 13 members of the community, healthcare, and public health. The committee meets 3 to 4 times a year to discuss ways to improve patient safety and the public reporting. Call to Order, Welcome, and Introductions.
