The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) conducted a public hearing to receive public comment on the proposed Medicaid payment rates for the Medical Policy Review of Peer Support Specialist. The hearing was held in compliance with Texas Human Resources Code §32.0282, which requires public notice of and hearings on proposed Medicaid reimbursements. HHSC will broadcast the public hearing, but it cannot accept testimony from persons watching remotely. Background. HB 1486 mandated that HHSC implement Peer Support Services as a Medicaid Benefit. [Fiscal Note] The bill requires the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), with input from certain stakeholders, to develop and adopt certain rules pertaining to peer specialists and peer services.
