HHSC: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Incentive Study Workgroup

The Workgroup gathered to conduct a roundtable discussion on local SNAP Incentive Programs including a presentation on specialty crops, consumer trends, trade, and SNAP; a presentation on the Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program grant; and strategies members use to encourage the purchase of eligible fruit/vegetables using SNAP. Review of action items from last meeting: Review and update the inventory - completed Send updated spreadsheet - completed Inventory changes: Combined feedback and organized an excel spread sheet with four tabs: Snap incentive programs in Texas and Health Incentive Program from Harris County Breakdown of the details on food bucks in Texas with organizations that are engaged in the effort.
